My name is Will Blackton. I am an attorney living and working in the Raleigh area.
Before attending the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, I lived in Southeast Asia and wore a wide variety of hats managing several tourist-oriented businesses. I have picked up a hammer and paintbrush. I have drafted and implemented business plans and corporate policies. I have worked as a web designer and digital artist where I was surprised to find that my work being used by others, within months of its creation, without my permission. So, I understand the feelings of frustration, flattery, and disgust that comes with having your work stolen.
After graduating from law school, I clerked for two U.S. District Court Judges, the Honorable Mark W. Bennett and the Honorable Leonard T. Strand in the Northern District of Iowa. These accomplished jurists taught me how to read critically the court filings of seasoned attorneys and write for an audience behind the bench.
Eager to start my own law firm since before attending law school, I am finally doing what I love. I primarily work with entrepreneurs, artists, photographers, and contractors. That is, I work with creators. And I can't wait to wake up every morning and continue doing it.
